Meet our Break Out Session Speakers for #AWAKEN2013

Today, we'll share with you about one of our break-out session speakers and next week, you'll get to meet the other! We are so honored and excited to be able to add these incredible communicators to the conference!

Stephen Hendrix, M.A., CADC – ll

Clinical Programs Officer of The HopeQuest Ministry Group

Stephen was born in Atlanta, GA and has lived his whole life in the metro Atlanta area. After having experienced a personal life dominating struggle with Cocaine and alcohol abuse, Stephen joined the ministry team under Roy’s direction in 1999 with the goal of receiving personal discipleship and mentoring. The One Way ministry program was launched under Stephen’s leadership and later flourished into the intensive residential treatment program that is now called The TREK Program. Stephen is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor II and has completed his Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling. Stephen and his wife Shelley live in Canton, GA with their three children Amelia, Macey and Jackson.

Stephen's life verse is:

"God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." II Corinthians 5:21

By and large, we receive our understanding of our identity through the voice of a man. Whether this is a pastor, a father, a husband or another significant male in our lives. With this in mind, Church 4 Chicks has intentionally chosen a strong, male voice of Grace and Truth to speak into our lives at this year's AWAKEN Conference. 

Additionally, we know that many of you are dealing with the pressures of a loved ones life-dominating issue. This could be a chemical dependency, emotional brokenness, sexual brokenness or any number of other strongholds faced by millions of people in our generation. As a former addict turned counselor to the addict and their families, Stephen Hendrix is equipped to infuse hope into your soul as one who understands what drives addictions and the power that sets men and women FREE!

We are confident you will receive a tremendous blessing as you listen to what God lays on Stephen's heart!

Our outreach focus for the day will be The HopeQuest Ministry Group and we will be receiving gift cards to help support them in their fight against addiction in the lives of their clients. 

Please feel free to bring gift cards in any amount from grocery stores, hardware stores, bulk discount stores, online bookstores, and the like to help off-set some of the costs for offering such a low-cost ministry to men and women who struggle with life-dominating issues.
