And Then You Say It! Part 1 by Debra Courtney

“The word that saves is right here, as near as the tongue in your mouth…It’s the word of faith that welcomes God to go to work and set things right for us…That’s it. you’re not “doing” anything; you’re simply calling out to God, trusting him to do it for you… and then you say it, right out loud…” Romans 10:8-10” MSG

Back in 2012 or so, I came upon a powerful force that has me in a powerful metamorphosis.  Subconsciously I knew this; however, I really didn’t give much attention to it in the past, as I do now. It’s really very simple. If we think about it, the place we are today is because of the WORDS we used yesterday.

WORDS HAVE POWER! They can bless and they can destroy us. However, the power of WORDS reaches much further than the impact they make on our emotions and surroundings. Our WORDS have supernatural power—power that changes circumstances and shapes destinies.

In fact, it is our uniqueness given to us by God that distinguishes man from the rest of God’s creation. Man is created in God’s image and it was not just thoughts but words that God used to create us and the universe in which we live. When He said, “Light be,” light was. Words are the way God works.

Hebrews 11:3 MSG describes this operating principle of creation this way: “By faith, we see the world called into existence by God’s word, what we see created by what we don’t see.”

“Well-spoken words bring satisfaction…” Proverbs 12:14 MSG. Words are spiritual; they carry power.

Declaring a thing is not denying temporary circumstances. It is declaring what God, who never changes, has said about the outcome and standing in faith until all temporary conditions line up with His eternal declaration.

Realize a Declaration is a vital part of our spiritual growth as a believer. Jesus indicated this in describing the importance of speaking His Father’s words and not His own: “… that I’m not making this up, but speaking only what the Father taught me.” John 8:28 MSG.

Declaring the Word of God isn’t misleading. We aren’t trying to get God to do anything. The benefits God has given to us in His Word are ours already and Satan try’s to steal them from us! Stealing is his nature.
I think that when we I don’t declare the WORD of God over my circumstances (say out loud with my mouth) then I am allowing Satan to steal from me!

Believing and then speaking is the process that brings every benefit promised in God’s Word from heaven into our lives. To tell someone you are healed because the Bible says “by His stripes you were healed” is speaking the truth. Jesus has already redeemed you and me from the curse of the law (Deuteronomy 28; Galatians 3:13).

WORDS reveal what we truly believe. Jesus said, “…How do you suppose what you say is worth anything when you ae so foul-minded? A good person  produces good deeds and words season after season…Let me tell you something: Every one of these careless words is going to come back to haunt you…Words are powerful; take them seriously. Words can be your salvation. Words can also be your damnation.” Matthew 12: 34-37. MSG
